Description
This Entrust (formerly Datacard) YMCKT color ribbon produces the most beautiful photo IDs on the market. It contains 3 half color panels (cyan, magenta and yellow) and 1 full black panel. In addition, it applies a clear topcoat over the card that protects it from wear and tear. This ribbon is only compatible with Entrust's CD800 card printer. It is important to note that these ribbons are only functional in North America. This ribbon replaces the #535000-004 ribbon. Here are the main points to know about this new design:
- Identical to the old one in terms of features and number of impressions.
- Better communication with the printer thanks to its improved RFID antenna.
- Less expensive (cost per card).
- Produced by the same manufacturer.
- Might require an update of your printer's firmware.
* Note: On one of the ribbon rollers, you will find a radio-frequency antenna called RFID (see picture). This antenna should not be removed as it enables the printer to recognize the type of ribbon installed in the printer's cartridge. If this antenna is removed while loading the ribbon, you will get an error message (e.g. "Printer Ribbon not identified"). This will automatically suspend the printing of all the remaining cards. To avoid this problem, make sure the RFID antenna is securely attached to the ribbon. If you mistakenly removed the antenna, put it back on the correct roller and restart the printer.
